I tried to convince my son to build something like this on my land, you know a place for him to land when he comes back. But in reality a dream come true for me. He worked construction before he left on his x-country bicycle trip and would have had access to "scraps" which would have made the project even more interesting. I'll have to show him this post when he return sometime in August. Thanks for the inspirations.

hi guys-
here's a link to the book on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Woodstock-Handmade-Houses-Robert-Haney/dp/0345255925. also google "woodstock handmade houses" for more images. i got my copy for less than $8 locally. but i looked for it for awhile before finding it.

i've been a suburban girl for most of my life, yet rustic homes have always held an attraction to me. in college i had some friends who had hippie-ish dwellings without being 'true' hippies.

maybe in the next re-creation of my life i'll be so lucky as to have a cool woodsy little house. i have to start planning. (just need to find someone to do it with :)

thanks for the inspiring pics. the bob dylan connection is so cool. love it when things like that happen.
