i am in love with these sharpie drawings by rikkianne of chakra pennywhistle. i think they would make a spectacular wall calendar, don't you?? and the fact that she used old diaries to draw in really makes them special. i emailed her to gush my admiration and she sent me back some more information:
“while traveling, i knew i would need an easy way to stay creative. so i found my great aunt’s diary from the ‘40s and started to draw in it…once filled, i searched for another diary at my local antique shop…and found the one i am working on now…if i can make out her writing, i draw things i think she might have seen. i hope that the sketches breath a little life into the book.”
head over to rikkianne's flickr to view more of these. good stuff.
i love these too; makes me want to draw more
ReplyDeletethese drawings remind me of to kill a mocking bird, maybe from their simplicity or their black and white charm? simply lovely

They are stunning! Perhaps some of these sketches will make their way to their pillows/tea towels. Thanks for sharing.
