loire valley house shopping

There are a lot of troglodytes villages in the Loire region, one fourth of people in central France lived in excavated dwellings during the Middle Ages mostly for protection during non stop wars.
Most of them have been converted to B&B, art galleries, museums and some are still inhabited.

I would think a cave would be quite an interesting home... I used to dream as a child of moving to Coober Pedy, Australia and being an opal miner living in a cave!

That's National Geographic for you...
