violet folklore and sorting out my crazy

Another tumblr for the pure pleasure of looking at pictures.  This one is violet folklore

So, what is up with you?  I'm, as we speak, typing and listening to Joanna Newsom on my new ipod.  My first one.  I finally got one because I realized I had 3 best buy gift cards kicking around in my bag.  Plus I need to start going for walks again.  Because the winter chubbed me up.  And I figured music would help me in that endeavor.  You know.  Walking.  And listening.

A few years ago I was going through a, uh, "rough patch" in life.  And I started walking 5 miles every day just about.  Because had I not my head would have popped off.  Straight off.  No joke.  It was walk therapy.  Or something like that.  Anywayz....

I lost a crap load of weight.  Walking was good.  I worked a lot out in my head.  And it was all zen and helped me sort out my crazy.  So here's a little tip from me to you- don't go nuts...just go for a walk.

the photos you have chosen to share are just incredible.... and thank you for reminding me that i need to get "out there" - seems to be reserved for the summer for me when i go on long hikes.... the rest of the year i'm at the computer far too much, and really that exposes me to just a tiny bit of the world in reality.

yes to walking!! on all accounts! bring on the endorphins and clean air. i quit my gym membership and i plan on just walking my fanny off, as soon as the weather lets up a little.

love the phrase 'chubbed up.' yes, I agree. I needed to open up a little can of 'butt-be-gone' last year and took on jogging. wonderful for the butt and for sorting out the crazy. lo and behold, it's back again (the butt and the crazy) so I gotta get back out there...loved this post.

Now that we have a dog, I walk her every afternoon. It's such a nice time to get away.

Leanne, not to sound stalkerish, but why are we not best friends? I'm reading your posts and am all: me too, me too! Anyways, wanted to suggest a book to you: Janet Bolton's "Patchwork Folk Art", if you haven't already found it yourself. She also has a website, which is a pure eye candy. Keep up the good work, I'm enjoying your website immensely.

I walk therapy all the time. Sometimes it's not enough to completely sort out my crazy - but it definitely helps.
