    When you come to Portland, consider taking a day/night to get out of the city to Cape Lookout and stay in a yurt, if you have a way to get there. It's only 1.5 hrs away and right on the coast, with a beautiful mountain hike and weird yellow lilies that grow by the beach, chipmunks... it's my favorite yurt spot I think! They're cheap to rent and so fun. First place I ever saw a fly agaric mushroom, the red ones with white spots! Great place to nerd out on west coast nature.
