i like this video below. i like what she says. i like that she's done little drawings on her skin most especially the lines of dots. i like that she's unapologetically herself. i like that the video opens with her sewing by hand. i wish i had artists around me.

Great video. Gosh, Kiki Smith is so honest and raw and comfortable and generous. I've always been intrigued by her. Any time I've seen her speak of her work and/or process I am a completely captive audience. She always leaves me with something I carry back into my life. Whenever I visit the roof of SFMOMA I am sort of hypnotized by her Virgin Mary sculpture.
kiki smith is a GEM of an artist. i was fortunate enough to see her speak once on her work and it was captivating!
Oh, I LOVE Kiki Smith! Ever since "lilith" scared the hell out of me rounding the corner of the gallery in the Met....one of my faves!
I also enjoyed this video, thank you for sharing her with us, wonderful art in this post as well. The dots and stripes on her look like they might be tattoos...
