the story of india

i am quite in love with india right now as i plow through this documentary series.  there is so much information i may need to re-watch it at some point.  but i'm getting that familiar feeling when a faraway place stirs my imagination...it's heart-racing and awe.  and gratitude for variety and amazing culture.  the joy in the sense of color is freaking nuts, people.  makes me want to break out of my obsession with all shades of white, black, grey and get my pink and orange on.

ps- click the images to make them larger...they really need to be viewed big.

Wonderful photos.. I would love to know the documentary you watched. Have you seen "Wild China" ... a perspective of China rarely seen.. Such amazing beauty and culture.

Ah, I loved that series! it goes so fast though, I kept wanting him to go back an talk more in depth about some things. Too interesting!

Oh, sigh. After spending six months traveling all through India, it doesn't take much to get me longing to go back. That place got under my skin like no other - it's almost impossible to explain. I remember when we came back to the states I was melancholy for awhile, feeling like everything was so drab and sterile. I think we should all wear orange, pink, and chartreuse green more often! (and all at once!) If you ever get the chance, go to India. It will forever change how you view the world.

My cousin is getting married in India this year (to an Indian man whose family still lives there but he moved to the states to further his education), I so wish I could go!
