last night was my home herbal class. the topic was maintaining healthy blood sugar. unfortunately i have always struggled with sugar cravings so it was a good class for me. we also do a fun little herbal take home project and this time it was making an herbal healing salve. the ingredients are: beeswax, plaintain, gotukola, st. johnswort, calendula, lavender and mint.
i also wanted to share a picture of this handkerchief i found in a vintage textile lot. someone had carefully pressed it and pinned the note" found in grandma dalla's coatpocket."
and as i've been cleaning out my studio this week i sorted some buttons. i kept the black ones from a tin destined for the giveaway pile. i can't get enough of black. in fact right now i'm brewing up some natural dye vats which will hopefully turn some hemp and lace into mottled black materials for use in my shop.

Love the handkerchief. Wouldn't it be great if everything with a history should have a noted pinned to it.
thank you for the link to the herbal info...I have been researching herbal beauty and healing lately...can't wait to poke around.
