i have a major girl crush on beatrice valenzuela.  not in a creepy way.  someday i will buy a pair of her shoes.  holy mojito, these boots are about the coolest things i ever laid eyes on.
...
i'm hyped up my 3rd cup of coffee so i may be exposing information i will regret but here's a secret:

and this one is for the vault people.  YOU MUST TELL NO ONE.  i.....have.....bunyons.  like mutant old man ones.  and i apologize to beatrice for including this admission on a post about her shoes.  but i feel like sharing.  pretend we are at girl scout camp and we are all crowded on the top bunk in our smelly cabin and we are practically like sisters at this point on our second day together.  nothing is off limits.  not even bunyons.

so now i feel like something else is needed to round out this post but i got nothing.

that's funny! i have a purse i found at an estate sale that is EXACTLY like those boots except in orange and cream leather. pens and lipstick fall through it, but that's not the point. it's fantastic!

OH MY GOD I made this EXACT POST like, two years ago! Admitting you have bunions is somehow so, I don't know. I don't know, but I felt I had to, and then I did. Somehow I care less. It seems a really over-dramatic post now (http://allthishappiness.blogspot.com/2008/04/confession.html). But, you know.

But I have bunions the size of my head. I hate them so. They don't really hurt or anything, although some shoes are hard to wear :( I started using these yoga toes things at night for a little while, and those helped when I was getting really achy from them.

I love the visual of second day at camp bunk mates-turned-best friends. You are just adorable, and I so love reading your blog. brightens my whole day. :)

I also have a girl crush on bea and am saving my spare change in a jar for a pair of her botas (true story) and I also have bunions. one is worse than the other. I NEVER used to wear sandals because I was so mortified by them but 8 or 9 years ago there was a pair of handmade beaded sandals i fell in love with and decided I was being ridiculous. so, now I wear sandals and anyone who doesn't like it can just look away.

I have only *one* bunion right now, and I think it looks even worse because my feet are asymmetrical! It seriously just appeared one summer when I lived somewhere with cobblestone streets and wore crappy running shoes to exercise in. A souvenir. Anyway, I hear you-- they seem like the opposite of chic or youthful and I sometimes feel a little embarrassed to be barefoot. B.V. is suddenly on my radar like crazy (maybe because of Closet Visit?) and I am in love with all her shoes.

And it's kind of nice to know I'm not the only bunion-having person in the world.
