wide open spaces

this is the view from where i sit now when i work at the computer.  i need to finish the sofa because that burlap sure is itchy.  i did make a big pillow for the bottom cushion.  it's a hand-dyed dark grey to the black old canvas painter's drop cloth.  the rest of the cover will be made of the same.

it seems that all my things are lined up against the walls in this house.  the living space is one room here.  i tried to arrange things differently.  i played with configurations in the center of the room.  but it felt crowded and claustrophobic.  i need the wide open space in the middle.

I lov e the light you're getting in your living room, Liane. Here we have a big room (loft style) that is the living room, dining room & kitchen. There is no wall or separation. I love it this way, it feels so (much more) spacious !
thanks for your interest in my dyeings :) Looking forward to your new line.

I'm looking forward to seeing your finished sofa...I wondered about itchy burlap. ;) I'm loving the idea of that dark grey...beautiful.

Please wrap me up in your design style! I have a couple of chairs I need recovered and would love your input/stamp -- an enhabiten living room would be divine! Cheers.

it looks like you have great light in there...such a nice space with all the glass and plants. I love all of the home peeks you've been sharing, I feel right at home in there. hope you don't mind.

Beautiful room!I had to laugh when I read your post. My furniture is also all along the walls for the same reason. I need more space!
