snaps

i got my car stuck in a snowbank this weekend.  the snow plower happened to be in my mega-icy driveway when it happened.  in fact, that's why it happened.  as i was coming around the uphill corner i saw him and had to stop mid-hill.  when i tried to back down the driveway my back left wheel got lodged deep into the snow in a ditch.  i actually managed to rock the car out of it and into the road on my own,  but the snow plower hooked me up to his truck and pulled me up the hill instead of me repeating the whole thing over again by trying to get up the hill solo.
the guy said several times he couldn't believe i got out of the predicament on my own.  i tell you this as a bold-faced brag.  he said it looked like i was an experienced winter driver.  i don't know if this is exclusive to the northeast, but being called a "good winter driver" is a high compliment.
the only problem is that now my car is busted.  i think the front end is out of alignment and the steering is real weird and loose.  did this happened when i was trying to get out of the ditch?  when i got pulled out?  does it matter at this point?
omg, are you totally snoozing right now??  why am i telling you this?
...
i was considering launching into my haunted house story but you probably need a rest.

a high compliment for sure but one that came with practice no doubt

Oh no please, Haunted House Story!

in the northwest almost NO ONE knows how to drive in snow (unless they came from the east, like my parents). Two inches on the roads and all the schools are cancelled and everyone stays home! Or the roads are full of accidents. Wish I was more confident in snowy weather driving.

I'm more than impressed by tales of winter driving, as a someone who panics with even the hint of a slip beneath my wheels. my hat is held high to you.

Glad you are alright. Did the snow thing in Iowa for year and headed right back to Cali where I came from. No driving in the snow for me. I would say that he paid you a compliment because I remember how I almost slid off the freeway during a bad snow storm.

Sending sunshine your way.

Sorry about your car - just hate it when somethings's up with those 'necessary evils'!
You have got such a beautiful home, love the natural colours and the tranquility in your photos.
