i took a little break from enhabiten shop 

and the past couple weeks away included some good things- 

canoeing, thrifting, deer watching.  

we did our local broke art fair, saw some live music, i had a birthday!  

...

i also spent time cleaning the house including the studio.  

i put some studio supplies in my shop just now:

and i've been working on fun new things, 

lots of dyed clothing, new scarves, head bands!  

i think all that will be ready and available mid-week.

two dyed hemp scarves and a set of napkins just went into the shop.

i'm speed-baking a homemade birthday cake (chocolate with buttercream frosting) for my kid and running over to the farmers' market now.

as old now as i was when i birthed you, ethan.

one of the purest joys of my life is being your mum.

well, here are some things i put in the shop this day june 5 2013!

there's a set of antique lace curtains i dyed and i patched 

and in some places i just let be.  

there's also a bitty little doily all dyed up, 

the arrow pouch which i will be offering till i run out of the material, 

and lastly, a heavy dyed vintage chenille blanket.

i've been working in the garden these days trying to get everything in the ground.  

once it's all planted the weeds need to be dealt with.  

they're really getting full of themselves.  they think they own the place.

...

and guess what?  this here is my birthday week,

friday being my actual birthday!

when i was pregnant with olivia i was obsessed with oranges.  i ate 2 or 3 a day.

and on this day 21 years ago i drove myself to the hospital already 6 centimeters dilated! 

(her dad had started a new job on the same day in boston, an hour away)

when she was born she had thick black curly hair and ice blue eyes.

her little brother eli had trouble saying her name 

when he was a toddler and called her ya ya.   

it's been her nickname ever since.

happy birthday, my girl.

i love you.  so much.
