I wanted to share with you one of my favorite Christmas gifts. My son Ethan, my little artist prodigy spawn (heehee), made me a mixed CD. We share the same music taste and he is also a musician so he's always finding great music I may not have unearthed myself. But the music on the CD is not the only great part of the gift. He also typed me a note and playlist and put it all in an old map envelope. Because presentation is important, peoples.
Here are some vids from the artists he included. First a Bondy one:
Makes you want to play the harmonic, no?
And then we have Joanna Newsom because I can't help myself. Will you please pay attention to the lyrics? I think she is amazing with the words to her songs. Genius, really.
And last, here's St. Vincent:
I wanna go to Paris,I wanna go to Paris, I wanna go to Paris, I wanna go to Paris,I wanna go to Paris....If I say it enough times will it happen?

Decatur by Sufjan Stevens is probably one of the greatest songs of all time. In fact, I'm going to play it right now. The best part is, the town that it's based on is 30 miles away from me!
that's so sweet! he has a great sense of aesthetics!
also, tell him to make an exclamation mark he should use the apostrophe & then backspace & put a period under it.
happy new year!! <3
put on those red sparkly shoes - the ones in the very back of your closet. close your eyes, click your heels and try it....did it work? aw, that's to get home :)
That is so awesome and sweet! How great that you and your son are so close...I love that! And yes, if you say it enough times, it will happen! :)
