in the realms of the unreal

There's a Henry Darger exhibition at the Folk Art Museum in NYC through mid-September.  There is also an exhibition at Intuit in Chicago on view through June 28.  The Intuit has a recreation of Darger's apartment.  You can see images here. You can find vignette images of his Chicago apartment before it was demolished at the Tate Museum website.
The entire 2004 documentary by Jessica Yu titled "In The Realms of the Unreal" about the writer and artist is available on you tube in 12 segments. The first three are above.

Who's to say what's real and unreal?

Well you just ruined my productivity for the day! Thanks a lot!! ;-)

I was doing some work and took a break to look at your post and ended up watching the whole (yes, all 12 segments) documentary on Henry Darger. I had never heard of him. Really fascinating.

Thanks for the post!

This is available instantly on Netflix right now, and I'm going to have to watch it thanks to your suggestion. I may not have taken notice of it otherwise.
