pressies? for me??

here's the back story:

this morning i was really grumpy. i kept rushing around like a crazy lady.  on multiple occasions i miscalculated the doorway and ran into the edge of it.  you know, so it bounced me back.  don't try to tell me that doesn't ever happen to you.  and it's not cuz i'm too wide so let's just nip that joke in the bud.

also, i tripped a few times and yelled at the floor.  not like, oh stupid silly floor but more like "i hate you floor, you're a dumb *itch-face."  those were my exact words.  it's funny now.  i'm laughing as i type.  but if you were with me when it happened and you laughed a little i may just have poked you in the eyeball.

zoom to the present:

i have a smear of chocolate across my face and some lovely vintage textiles in my lap.  i received not one but TWO unexpected packages in the mail recently.  last week katherine of making chicken salad fame sent me some vintage textiles out of the total and clear blue.  aw, honey!  thank you so much.  times like that when i sincerely wish my internet friends could be next door neighbor friends.  katherine, you are too kind! xo

and then this afternoon i received a box of way good much better than around here chocolates and other sweets (i'm eating the lollypop in the pics above) from the manbroiderer himself, the hysterically funny and totally good looking laurent of lambert nyc.  thanks L!

so the moral of the story is...call the floor a bitch-face and you will receive presents in the mail.  naw.  just joking.  the moral of the story is that even when you act like a total lunatic your friends will be around to make you feel better.

umm, yeah.... I went to the grocery store today while mad and ended up hitting another womans cart, clipping a display and running straight into a freezer. I think everyone around me saw and made sure to steer clear... ugh! That is so awesome that you got 2 totally rad, totally unexpected presants! hooray!!! have a good one!

yay, i'm glad they arrived! and i hope you don't mind me unloading some of my junk on you!

as for running into the doors and such... i am famous for the same thing, and it seems my little henry has inherited his mother's clumsiness. every now and then he will come to me with tears in his eyes FURIOUS at the wall or door jam for hitting him or kicking him.

have a great week!

Is that a Zingerman's candy bar?! Zingerman's candy bars are great. Actually, everything from Zingerman's is great! Love that you called the floor a bitch face. My mom used to swear like that: insult + random body part. I still get a chuckle out of her favorite, "dick elbow"

you are so funny! i run into doorways, too; in fact, i ran into the bathroom doorway and my husband was standing right there. well, at least i made him laugh. but maybe people run into doorways and walls because they subconsciously think they are on a different level (spiritually) but their bodies are still relating to the earth. does that make sense. i just think we can be somewhere else in our souls but still really here on earth. it can't just be that we are clumsy. anyway, that's so great that you were cheered up by some wonderful gifts. that really does make you feel like your existense means something!! thanks for cheering me up every day!!

It's a daily struggle for me not to use the word "bitch-face" in the blog. I feel better now thank you!
ps. You're sharing the chocolate, right?

hehehe :) I am sooo glad to know I am not alone in running into door frames and cursing the hell out it.
Sweeter still that you had your tantrum and got presents. I find if I really whine and bitch about something, sometimes it happens. So much for positive thinking ;) I kid, I kid (not really)

I am glad you received the goodies on a bitch-face floor bumping day. Brooklyn chocolate will definitely take the edge off.

Me, at the candy shop:

"Can this Mast bar REALLY be $12 worth of good?"

After having a sample:
"Mmmaanmamashdjahhasgggggghhh yes."
