at auction and house reorg.

a few good things.

i did go to the last auction i blogged about and spent more money than i should have!  bought a small antique folk art oil on board painting, an oriental rug and an antique windsor chair.  once i get my shop update done next week i've got big plans to clean and reorganize my house a bit.  i'll try to remember to post pictures after.  one thing i'm dying DYING to do house-wise is replace my ratty old (and not in a good way) sofas with some vintage leather ones.  Ooooooo.  i know, those will be hard to find.  i think i need to widen my search efforts beyond my usual antique shop haunts and check craig's list regularly and maybe even ebay.  if you have any other ideas or leads PA-LEASE let me know!

Really? I feel like you have the best sofas. That camel back one that you're recovering and wasn't there a little leather one too?

Hi Amy. No I promise my sofas are ick. I gave the leather one to Ethan...the yet to be redone one is in my studio. The two in the LR are older. One having a distinct 1980s air. Srsly.

laura- hi! you know i spaced out when this came up for bidding last night. grrrr....too busy eating my french fries or staring at the funny folks who go to the auction with me! yes, stare. sometimes i find myself studying people and realize i'm staring.
anyway, i digress. i don't know how much the picture went for but i do know it was identified as a picture of a quaker woman. interesting.

Oh, she is Quaker! That makes more sense now that I look more closely.

Actually, I think that's a picture of Jane Seymour, Henry VIII's third wife. Could be wrong, but it sure looks like her...

I take it back. She's prettier than Jane.
