i just read a book called 12x12. i read it night and day and finished it in not much more than 24 hours. it was one of those books you pick up in the store and think, uh, this could be kind of corny....i also questioned whether it would have any new information or ideas for me. because on this topic i've read it all from the nearing books to the most contemporary writing on the subject of living real simple and the reasons why people do it.
but for whatever reason i could not put this book down. and it's not so much that i was in love with it. in fact, i'm not sure i liked it. there was a fair amount of fuzzy woo woo new age goosh to wade through (god i hope the author doesn't read this.) i feel like i should give stuff like "warrior presence" (a term in the book) a chance and yet i can't help rolling my eyes pretty hard.
so i just wanted to see if anyone else has read the book and find out what you thought. also there may be a book out there along these lines i actually haven't read so if you have any suggestions leave me a comment.

and i put a handful of these new zip purses in my shop. they are all completely unique and made with an antique quilt and hemp lining. i love them with black zippers.

Ive not read this book but I follow the tiny house blog which just had a beautiful 12x12 house on it - did you see it? Google wordsfromthewoods if you didn't. Having kids means you can't really live like this but it does look lovely and peaceful and maybe if I order a big box of beeswax candles the light will be too dim for me too see the dishwasher and any plastic tat toys lying around:) Haha at the "fuzzy woo woo new age goosh" of course he will find that...and maybe do a little warrior dance?
I know exactly what you mean about that book. I wanted to love it--I felt like I was almost forcing myself. I think he imposed his personality on it too much or something--he didn't feel fully genuine--I felt a little manipulated. I love what he wrote about the Dr. who owns the shack--I want to hear her story.
