folk art

Awwww! Found some folk art to love here.
On the hair art: "During the 19th century, women kept albums filled with love and friendship tokens which they traded freely. Woven hair and hearts and hands were favorite symbols used in these tokens. The double-lobed heart has been a symbol of love since antiquity, showing up in Cro-Magnon pictograms and early Egyptian paintings."
There is also a great section of antique silhouettes. Here's the link. Enjoy!
