eli found a large paper wasp's nest yesterday. most of it was still high up in a tree but the bottom had fallen to the ground. i found some pussy willow on a walk.
i've been doing a little bartering for things i need. i sent some pillows to katie at pine and main and received a set of vintage mugs. locally, i made some arm warmers for a yoga teacher in exchange for a few classes.
there's a new fisherman pillow in the shop this morning and i plan to put some heavy naturally dyed black hemp canvas pillow covers i'm calling "galaxy" in the shop this afternoon. they'll have a vintage black glass button closure with hand-stitched button holes. this black fabric is my favorite hand-dye.

You have pussywillows! Ours are not out yet! Ahhh!
It's foggy like crazy here today, too. So pretty.
Gorgeous photos...
I love the idea of bartering...so simple and pure. I traded some chicken eggs for fresh red onions still full of dirt with my backyard neighbor. It was a small thing...but oh so satisfying. I ran in to the house and yelled out to my husband, "I just bartered!" (dork...I know.)
I love the photos and the fisherman's cushion. Pussy Willow is out here too, I always have to touch...
it was foggy yesterday morning
and extremely unusual (too dry, we never get fog)
I am slightly jealous about the mugs (because I'm slightly obsessed with ceramics right now !)
this world would be a better place if there was more bartering, I guess. Yours sound wonderful !
oxoxo
bartering is such a great idea. maybe i should start exploring that avenue. thanks for the inspiration! (also, it's 38 degrees celsius here, jealous of your foggy weather just a little!)
