this day

liv's room
 ...

 what i've been doing today:

sewing- there are new fisherman cushions in the shop.
hoping to strip paint with a paste of washing soda and water from a couple old wood frames i got at the swap shop.  i'm not sure it's working...
soaking hemp canvas in the iron vat.  it's the last of several dips to reach black.

i love liv's room. we have all white duvets at our house, so comfy. you are so busy doing wonderful things. geoff's let me stay in bed today to try to get myself better, and it's nice to just sit here and draw in a sunny room. have a lovely weekend, lady.

if you think of it, report back about the washing soda results. Never heard of that method. Those cushions might be my most favorite yet. SO awesome.

Liv's room looks inviting...love the rug. And the poster of Kurt.

Seeing this photo of a spot in your home reminds me that you'd talked about fixing up a room for yourself...and using pallets? Did you ever figure out something cool to do?

i am curious about your dyeing process. as a natural dyer myself, i am always looking for others along the same path :)

do you make your own iron liquor or do you use powdered iron sulphate? what do you use before the iron dips to make black, tannin? i understand if you don't want to share your recipe, so to speak, but i am always looking to the experiences of other dyers for inspiration and knowledge. the depth of your colors are so beautiful, that i finally had to muster up the courage to ask!
