morning.
my current music addiction is jolie holland.  here she is singing that yeats poem from the previous post.
also, though i've been out of the studio a lot lately i did manage to do some indigo dyeing the other day.  some new things are in the SHOP HERE with more indigo and vespertine to come.

*from images above, the tarot cards are new and from HERE.  the items on the shelf include relic bits i found on the river bank across from my house.  there's a whole treasure trove of discards back there behind a couple historic houses.  my own private dead horse bay.

Hey so don't you think Jeff Bridges is one sexy dude?  You know you do.  He's funny, he's musical, he's all hairy and kind of zen.  The perfect package.  And I was listening to the radio this morning and apparently he's releasing an album next week.  That is surely something to check out.

And what really caught my ear is that he does a cover of one of my favorite Greg Brown tunes, Blue Car.  I've shared a video of that here but I may just do a reprise cuz it's so dang good.  If you don't know Greg get yerself on you tube or wherever you go for such things and take a listen.  I can tell you that I've been to many of his shows and had a short conversation once with him wherein I told him I was in love with him.  It's a short life, peeps, you gotta say what you need to say when you got the chance.  And he's super charming and a fancy dresser.  And by fancy I mean kind of comical.  He's a big guy and likes to wear muscle tees and dangling earrings and goofy hats.  I'm getting tingly just talking about it.

So anyway, long story medium length, I'll probably be dreaming about both these guys tonite.  Watch out.  And I'll be looking for the Jeff Bridges album next week.

Here's a couple visuals:

It's been fun hanging with ya,

life, work, music

good morning hens and chicks.

first, thanks so much for the wise and kind comments left for me a couple posts ago.  also thank you for the emails and tweets and all and for the good birthday wishes.  y'all are my tribe and my people.  bunch of sages and therapists you are!   love that and it's why i keep coming back.  funny little internet.

it's true i have been through a lot lately and much is not appropriate or necessary for this place and yet i do try to share my real self here and i do want to know your real selves.  so it's a weird balancing act.  and it's with some trepidation i share my lows but i keep in mind that THAT IS LIFE and also i tell myself...NOW ON WITH THE HIGHS!  right?  right!

.....

i love this post sarah wrote the other day.

.....

i made some indigo bags and put them in the etsy shop yesterday.  I'm going to continue making indigo bags this summer and then in the fall make some hand-dyed black bags.  oooooo.  ahhhhhhh.  i can't wait.

i'm also hoping to get an auction post up here today.

with love and affection,

(are you too young to remember that joan armatrading song?  maybe i'll find it on you tube right this minute and share)

a couple who laughed

john lennon

They say teenagers laugh at the drop of a hat. Nowadays I see many teenagers sad and angry with each other. John and I were hardly teenagers. But my memory of us is that we were a couple who laughed.

comfort music

i'm finding a lot of comfort in music these days.  so i hope you aren't bored with these music posts.  this is beautiful.  i'm enthralled with anything accordian.  and banjo comes in a  close second.  and then a tie for second is most def double bass.  so pretty much this music was made for me.  and maybe you?

real good mood

my morning glories are in a real good mood lately.  good for them i say.  my tomatoes are feeling pretty randy too.  in fact i need to freeze a bunch today or else there will be wasting, which i can't abide.  the picture is of the grape tomatoes mainly because they are growing right by the m. glories and i was too lazy to take a picture of the brandywines which are the real stars of the place.  man alive they are good.  i think i'm averaging a couple real big ones each day.  eating myself i mean.  i'm eating a lot of tomatoes.  i also grew some called german stripe i think.  they are fine but i won't grow them again because they are paupers compared to the b. wines princes.  which is not to say i like princes better than paupers.  in fact i'm definitely more of a pauper type so that was probably the wrong analogy.  and i'm probably boring you with garden talk at this point.

let's see what else.  i just watched this video:

do you like?  i think i do but i can't decide.  maybe if you like it i will too or if you don't i won't.  such a follower...

and actually i watched half of another video but really way better (i hope diane doen't read this) which is from folk streams.  i highly recommend.  this particular vid and the site as a whole.  it's about the amish.  click amish to follow the link.  i know i don't have my links obvious and in a different colored text.  and i would so totally fix that right now except i need to get back into the studio because i'm doing a shop update this afternoon and i need to stop fecking around.

oh but do my a favor...leave a comment telling me a secret.  it doesn't have to be earth shattering or so totally private that i wouldn't want to know or may get grossed out or anything.  just a little something.  and i promise not to tell anyone.  and then i swear i will tell you some secrets next time.  don't ask why.  mostly because there isn't really a reason and i just thought of it right while i was typing.

looooooove,
liane
