how table runners promote civility

i have a good amount of light weight vintage fabrics. i decided to make some small patchwork pieces for myself to pretty up my table tops and i'm putting some in the shop. having one on my bedroom dresser makes me feel guilty about being so messy and piling up clothing willy nilly rather than putting them away where they belong. sometimes. which is better than no times. and having one on my kitchen table helps me slow down and drink my coffee or tea in a more civilized manner. because civility, my dears, is important in this crazy world. if the table is pretty i stop to appreciate it. the end.

I'd never thought about it that way before. Good point. And I like the idea of your patchwork. I've been making some patchwork pillows and just loving them so much.
